This Cancellation & Weather Policy applies to all charter reservations made with The Legend Fishing Adventures. By submitting a reservation and paying the required deposit, the customer acknowledges and agrees to the terms below.

Charter Deposits

A deposit is required at the time of booking to reserve the selected charter date, boat, and captain. The deposit will be applied toward the total charter price.

Deposit amounts may vary depending on the charter duration, boat, trip type, preparation requirements, and total charter price. The exact deposit due will be displayed during the booking process before payment is submitted.

The remaining charter balance is due on or before the scheduled charter date, according to the payment instructions provided with the reservation.

Customer Cancellations

Customers who need to cancel or reschedule a charter must contact The Legend Fishing Adventures as soon as possible by calling (904) 338-7843.

Cancellations made at least 14 calendar days before the scheduled departure date may be eligible for one of the following options:

  • Transfer of the deposit to another available charter date; or
  • Refund of the deposit, subject to any nonrefundable payment-processing charges.

All rescheduling requests are subject to boat, captain, and date availability and must be approved by The Legend Fishing Adventures.

Cancellations Within 14 Days

Cancellations made fewer than 14 calendar days before the scheduled departure date will result in forfeiture of the deposit unless otherwise approved by The Legend Fishing Adventures.

If the reserved date and boat can be successfully rebooked, The Legend Fishing Adventures may, at its discretion, allow the customer to transfer some or all of the deposit to another available date.

Any approved deposit transfer may be used only once and may be subject to current charter pricing and availability.

Late Cancellations and No-Shows

Customers who cancel within 72 hours of departure, cancel on the day of the charter, fail to arrive, or arrive too late for the charter to depart may forfeit the deposit and may be responsible for the remaining charter balance.

The Legend Fishing Adventures reserves the right to determine whether any remaining balance will be waived, reduced, credited, or collected based on the circumstances and the ability to rebook the reserved boat and date.

Weather and Sea Conditions

The captain has sole authority to determine whether weather, sea conditions, visibility, mechanical concerns, or other safety-related circumstances make the charter unsafe or impractical.

A charter is not automatically canceled because of rain, clouds, wind forecasts, changing weather reports, rough-water concerns, or a customer’s personal preference regarding the forecast.

Customers should not assume that a charter has been canceled unless they receive confirmation directly from The Legend Fishing Adventures or the assigned captain.

Captain-Canceled Charters

If The Legend Fishing Adventures cancels a charter because of unsafe weather, unsafe sea conditions, mechanical issues, or another condition outside the customer’s control, the customer may choose one of the following options:

  • Reschedule the charter to another mutually available date; or
  • Receive a refund of payments made toward the canceled charter.

When possible, rescheduling will be offered before a refund is issued.

Weather Delays and Changes to Trip Duration

Weather, sea conditions, mechanical concerns, fishing conditions, marina restrictions, or other circumstances may require a delayed departure, adjusted departure time, change in fishing location, early return, or modification of the planned charter.

Minor delays, route changes, fishing-location changes, or changes caused by normal offshore conditions do not automatically qualify the customer for a refund.

If a charter is materially shortened because of a decision made by the captain for safety or mechanical reasons, any refund, partial refund, rescheduling credit, or other adjustment will be determined by The Legend Fishing Adventures based on the circumstances.

Customer Illness and Personal Circumstances

Customer illness, seasickness, transportation problems, missed flights, schedule conflicts, family emergencies, or other personal circumstances do not automatically qualify for a refund.

The Legend Fishing Adventures may consider a rescheduling request on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability and the amount of notice provided.

Arrival Time and Late Arrivals

Customers are responsible for arriving at the designated departure location at the time provided in the booking confirmation.

Late arrival may reduce the available fishing time and will not normally result in a reduced charter price or refund.

If a customer arrives too late for the charter to depart safely or reasonably, the reservation may be treated as a no-show.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing an accurate name, telephone number, and email address;
  • Reviewing all booking confirmations and charter instructions;
  • Remaining available by phone or email before the scheduled departure;
  • Informing The Legend Fishing Adventures of any requested reservation changes;
  • Arriving on time and prepared for the charter; and
  • Following all safety instructions provided by the captain and crew.

Failure to receive a message because of incorrect contact information, a full voicemail box, email filtering, or failure to review booking communications does not automatically qualify the customer for a refund.

Payment-Processing Fees

Payment-processing fees may be nonrefundable when those fees are not returned to The Legend Fishing Adventures by the payment processor.

Any refund issued will be returned, when possible, to the original payment method used for the reservation.

Changes Requested by the Customer

Requests to change the charter date, departure time, trip duration, boat, captain, or charter type are subject to availability and approval.

If the requested change results in a higher charter price or deposit requirement, the customer will be responsible for paying the difference.

Agreement to This Policy

By completing a reservation, paying a deposit, or authorizing another person to make a reservation on the customer’s behalf, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Cancellation & Weather Policy.

This policy applies to online, telephone, email, and in-person reservations.
